CARDACIA
RITUALS OF THE COLLECTIVE

From the shores of Southern Italy to the mountains of the North, Cardacia traces a visual journey through collective and ancestral rituals that shape the cultural identity of contemporary Italy.

Between devotion and resistance these gestures (often inherited, sometimes reinvented) reveal a social choreography where body, land, and memory intertwine. In a suspended space between the sacred and the everyday the series explores how rituals continue to act as vessels of belonging, community, and transformation.

The black and white language amplifies this tension between presence and disappearance translating the invisible emotional temperature of shared experience. The work investigates how rituals both sacred and mundane endure as acts of resistance against oblivion.

They are not performances for the past but living expressions of identity and continuity. Cardacia becomes both documentation and invocation an act of witnessing the fragile persistence of what still binds us together.
