ABOUT
Ilaria Vidaletti is an Italian photographer and photojournalist. Her black and white imagery explores the human condition through an intimate and poetic lens. Moving between documentary and authorial photography she investigates the tension between identity, body and society. Through light, silence and shadow she captures gestures, anticipation and the invisible spaces where transformation unfolds.
After graduating from the Accademia di Belle Arti she developed an authorial language that connects observation and emotion, giving shape to a photography of the soul, one that seeks what lies beyond the visible. Her portraits and reportages often dwell in suspended moments, revealing the backstage, the waiting and the essence hidden in ordinary gestures.
In 2017 the European Parliament in Brussels named her among the five most promising emerging photographers representing new values and ideals. She has produced photo reportages for Corriere della Sera, the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and the European Parliament. She has also collaborated with Sergio Mori — Compasso d’Oro designer, winning twice at the Triennale Grandesign International Award and with Nick Wooster, creative director of Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus New York.
Her recent projects, Oltre la Moda, Cardacia and Time Body (her new upcoming reportage), expand her research into documentary narratives, blending poetic vision and social observation to reflect on collective identity and the silent dialogue between body and environment.
With a particular sensitivity toward the feminine and the social sphere Vidaletti’s work expresses a deep sense of collective responsibility. Through her lens she explores the intersections between art, sociology and politics, affirming photography as an act of dignity and awareness.
